Let’s talk about putting avocados in our chocolate.

Because, Oh my goodness, this Avocado Chocolate Mousse is just so delicious and it needs to be talked about. Trust me, if you’ve been looking for a vegan, creamy, chocolaty, rich, sinful, delectable, chocolate mousse made without any refined sugars, dairy products, chemicals, and icky things…then look no further.

Chocolate Mousse!

Vegan!

Avocados!

It’s just so good that I can’t even form complete sentences. The best part is, of course, that this mousse is incredibly nourishing and wholesome for your body too. Unlike mousse that you may buy at the grocery store filled with refined oils, too sweet sugars, and a host of other garbage – this stuff is a nutritious delight made with real whole foods, like bananas, dates, and avocados.

…And did I mention how good it is?

The avocados create the creamiest, softest mousse-like texture that makes every chocolate spoonful melt in your mouth. Of course, avocados are packed with heart-healthy fats, antioxidants, and cholesterol lowering powers to make our chocolate mousse healthy and delicious too. Cacao powder boosts up the antioxidants while bananas and dates provide natural sweetness, potassium, and fiber.

This Chocolate Avocado Moose is dreamy, super rich, and absolutely amazing. It’s an incredibly nutrient dense dessert that will fulfill all your chocolate, sweet, and creamy cravings. The best part is, of course, that the flavor of the avocado is completely hidden, so absolutely no one will know what this mousse’s secret whole food ingredient is! If you know plant based skeptics, introduce them to this mousse and don’t tell them what’s inside until after they’ve licked the bowl clean!

This Chocolate Avocado Mousse is so delectable, that you’re going to want to eat it for breakfast – which is totally acceptable every now and then ☺

Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Serves 4-6

2 large ripe avocados
1 ripe banana
6 Mejdool dates, soaked in warm water for 10 minutes
3 T creamy almond butter
1/3 cup raw cacao powder
2-3 T maple syrup, honey, or brown rice syrup
Fresh berries, coconut flakes, & chia seeds (to serve)

Combine all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until mixture turns smooth and creamy, about a minute. Scoop into little bowls or jars and garnish with unsweetened coconut flakes, in season fruits like berries, and a sprinkle of chia seeds for extra crunch if desired. Enjoy!

Leftovers will keep in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
